Getting the Assistance You Need

No one plans to get hurt on the job. If you experience a workplace injury, the most appropriate thing you can do to speed your recovery is to be proactive. Seek medical care immediately. Keep all of your medical appointments. Follow your prescribed treatment. Take care of yourself.

 

The best thing you can do for your job is to keep in touch with your employer. Update them on your progress. Let them know you want to return to work in some capacity as soon as you’re able.

 

Your wage loss benefits are paid at 66 2/3% of your average weekly wages, subject to the schedule for the maximum and minimum weekly benefits. Returning back to work as soon as medically possible will help keep you financially stable. Make sure you inform your employer when you are able to return to work in a full time or part time capacity. If applicable, a modified or light duty program can help you return to work sooner.

 

IF YOU ARE INJURED ON THE JOB…

Step 1

Report workplace injuries to your employer immediately.

Step 2

Seek medical treatment from your medical provider or closest emergency room.

Step 3

Your employer will complete a “Employer’s First Report or Illness” (Form 45) and sent it to IPRF within 24 hours.

Step 4

Within 24 hours after receipt of Form 45, an assigned Claim Analyst from IPRF will contact you to discuss the workplace injury.
